They look identical in size, so I am assuming they are pretty close to the same. They are really getting active, too!
Shawna Who are you networked with? Networking could save your gliders life. Create one now.

Here is the weight study results (for joeys), that I conducted.
X = Days OOP Y = Average Weight
For Joeys (1 Day OOP - 84 Days OOP):
Males
Y = 0.8348x + 12.031 R2 = .7744
Females
Y = 0.6899x + 12.492 R2 = .759

Here is an example of how to use this:
Lets assume that your joey is a male. He is 5 days OOP.
Here is the data from my study you will need.
X = Days OOP Y = Average Weight
Males
Y = 0.8348x + 12.031 R2 = .7744
For this example X = 5
Y = 0.8348(5) + 12.031 Y = 4.174 + 12.031 Y = 16.205
Therefore a male joey that is 5 days OOP should weigh approximatly 16.205 g according to data collected in my weight study.

When was I supposed to remember algebra to own a glider….
Let me reverse this..
A standard # (like Phi) <multiplied> by the days OOP <plus> a standard # = weight the joey should be...
0.8348 x (# days OOP) + 12.031 = weight the joys
OK I figured it out.. I have no idea if this is scientific or not… lol

This information is based off a weight study that I conducted in which I took submitted weights for joeys 1 day OOP - 12 weeks OOP and plotted them upon an excell graph and was able to get this as the line of best fit. The line has a fit equal to R2 value. For a study of this type a 75% or better fit is really good. Remember there are a lot of factors that come into play here diet, genetics, temerature, ect... this effects the line of best fit. I conducted this study under the guidence of my college advisor. It was conducted scientifically. The scope of this study was not to sort out of the interplay that effects the growth rate of gliders it was to merely document the growth rate and give a mathamatical equation that could be used to predict weight based upon age. This prediction is less reliable as the glider ages, therefore it cannot be used to predict an adult gliders age based upon weight. For joeys it has a relativly high R2 value and can be used as a predictor of weight based upon age.
