These babies are from a first-time mom who for some reason, possibly lack of milk, did want these little boys to nurse. The marks are from her biting them on the face to make them let go the nipple.

What do you know, it worked! So here is the second little boy. These are Judie's little WFB babies she was hand feeding at the SGGA.

OUCH!! that looks really painful! How did you first notice this? One of my gliders is carrying her first joeys, & I'd like to know what signs I should watch for.

This is a good reason for checking new joeys 2 or 3 times a day, these marks would show up pretty quickly in the first few days. And I think momma makes aggravated noises too, when she's doing it.
