I do routine fecal testing on my suggies, and just used a great lab that does it fast, and at a desent price.

My vet has to send out the samples for ELISA testing, which costs me $55 for each sample. OUCH.

Last night at 5:30 pm, I took samples from all 10 cages to Fed EX, and had them shipped 2 day to
Research Associates Lab in TX, ( I'm in WY ) and at 12:00 my time TODAY, I already got all my results faxed to my home #. WOW that is fast, and it is only $15 a sample for DNA parasite testing.

All negative BTW  :hdance:
No symptoms or anything, just like I said, routine testing. Still doing the happy dance. :hdance:

I called the lab first, and they said that the sample doesn't have to be fresh for the DNA testing. I scrubbed all the cages, then collected all the droppings in the morning, and took them to the fed ex. It was going to cost over $50 for overnight shipping, so opted for the 2 day, which was only $19. But the samples still got there in one day. Like I said before, I was at fed ex at 5:30 pm on Monday night, and had the faxed reports at home by 12:00 on Tues. They only charge $15 for each sample and each test.

I sent individual cage samples from 5 cages, that have joeys that are going to be going to their new homes soon, and a group sample from the other cages. Saved me a ton from having my vet send off the samples.

I always have fecals done on new gliders, if I see anything weird in the tray, and every 6 months as routine, but with that speed and cost, I will sleep better getting them done more often.

I'm not seeing on thier website where they do it for the every day individual.... It says "veterinarians, zoos, universities, and the pet and pest industries."

I was sent one of their "submittal forms" by email, and called them to confirm how to send in my samples. They are all very nice and helpful. I do post accident drug testing, so have lots of sample bottles around. I just put the poo from each cage tray in one, labled them, and sent them to the address at the top of the form. Nothing was asked about me being an individual. They said you could even just send the samples in a sealed ziplock. I prefer something sterile myself.

I can forward you the form by email if you want, of you could call them and ask to have one faxed or emailed to you.
