Does anybody have experience with this brand, found their site
http://www.smittybeehoney.com/honey-process/ and it seems to be a decent company but a person can never really know

I found it locally at grocery outlet in WA but if there is no backing from members i might just order Ambrosia Honey Co from walmart

I'm not familiar with this particular company. That doesn't mean anything at all.

I use raw honey harvested locally, without the honeycomb. I look for cold filtered process. This process keeps all nutritional value in the the honey.

I have also bought raw honey at a grocery store, I look for local or at least regional companies.

Since we eat honey too, there is a benefit to this as far as local allergens.

What diet have you chosen?

I am using TPG currently from previous owner and want to try GOHPW to give them some variety

I am vegan so no honey for me haha, i am organic and do my best to stay healthy and dont really trust the FDA etc; as i have learned many things

So that is why i do so much research when it comes to the gliders diet

I will probably stop by a local shop and check it out, there was a local honey provider online but they wanted $17 for 23 oz WOW

Yeah, it's not gonna be cheap, but 23 oz is quite a bit. I've given $8 for a half a pound before. That comes to $1 per ounce.
Mine are on Critter Love complete, and I give honey as a treat.

I didn't know vegetarians couldn't have honey.

Dawn, vegan is more strict that vegetarian agree

Quote:
vegetarian - The oxford dictionary definition of a vegetarian is “a person who does not eat meat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs or cheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain etc.”

vegan - A follower of veganism is known as a vegan”. That means veganism extends beyond the diet of a vegan individual. That is the biggest difference between vegans and vegetarians. While vegetarians may not consume animal products, they may use them if they are present in other products, such as items containing silk, honey or leather.

Vegans on the other hand, avoid the use of animal products in all areas of their lifestyles.

Wow! I thought they were the same. I thought if I used the word vegan, I might offend you. I wasn't sure if it was politically correct as the second person using in a sentence.

Thank you for the correction.

I learned something new today! smile

Here are a couple Apiaries located in Washington State: http://www.sweetandsimpleapiaries.com/honey.html
https://brookfieldfarmhoney.wordpress.co...-make-a-living/

I pay about $23.00 for a 5 pound jug of honey, normally a friend and I purchase a 5 gallon (60 pound) container of honey, but we are feeding a lot of gliders.

I would go for local honey before getting honey from Walmart.

Yes vegan is much more strict, i dont get offended though, i was vegetarian before i was vegan

But im not those crazy vegans that FORCE their pets to be vegan

I stopped by my local co op and they had quite a few options, their cheapest was $7 per lb bulk

Ill continue looking around, but $23 for 5 lbs is a great deal

Price isnt a huge issue, i know gliders are expensive but i always try to get the best deal to help long term

We do to that is why we prefer to get the 5 gallon and split it, we have saved a lot of the other smaller honey jugs and I sit in the kitchen and fill jugs.

Slow process.

Not sure why but visions of Winnie the Poo come to mind, lol. Maybe it's all that honey and honey jugs.
