I was just wondering if feathers are OK for gliders to have in their cage on a regular basis. Up until now, I haven't used them, except for monitored tent/play time. I figured, if I didn't know for sure, it's better to be safe than sorry. So, are they OK? Yes? No?

I would be concerned that they might chew/choke on feathers. I just use them for playtime with me.

I have had some hanging feather toys in my cage and my gliders enjoyed playing with them. I never had problems with them chewing on them, but then my gliders aren't really chewers (unless it's a book, for some reason they like to chew the covers up).

Ok. Ringo isn't a chewer at all, so I guess she'd be okay with them then.
Actually, I just walked in the other room to see that she had reached her little hands through the bars and grabbed the peacock feather nearby. I didn't realize it was close enough for her to get through the bars!! I removed it, but I think I may put the feathery wobble thingy in for her for the rest of the night. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

The feather toy I've got in my cage is a peacock feather that hangs. They do seem to love those!
