I know what you are talking about and they are safe for glidres. The color is made from vegetable oil, but they are not hard like wood, they feel more like foam.

[:"green"]I have given them to my gliders before, but they didn't have much interest in them . But, my gliders aren't chewers like yours is, so maybe yours will love them. I've actually been toying with an idea of making my own fruit-flavored wood toys by soaking them in hot, non-gelled Jell-O. Haven't tried it yet, but maybe I will over the weekend .

I have Bill drill holes in manzanita perches and we fill them with a mix of mango nectar, acacia gum and bee pollen to make healthy treats... if there is any of that the chewers normally go for it before chewing on too many other things.

Suz, I'm not too much of a Jell-O fan, but got to thinking after I read your post. Since Jell-O is supposed to be a low calorie thing, is it made with sugar or the other stuff? Too much sugar isn't good for them and the aspertane(?), whatever is defintely not good for them. Maybe a package of unsweetened Kool-Aid would be better - that is if it doesn't have any additives.

In the wild, gliders chew on trees to get to the sap. Maybe you should try to put a real branch in there. He will debark it. When he does, it's time to replace it. Debarking is also good to help clean their teeth.
