I only use my sissy pouches with windows as bonding pouches...mainly because of the comfort straps. I guess they can be used as cage pouches, but I never even considered them that way. Thanks for the warning tho, because obviously folks use them in cages. BTW, I'm probably going to be needing a couple more after the SGGA (not going to make it this year).

I never would have thought to use them in the cage. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" /> I have such cute cage sets that I spent so much money on that I'd much rather use those. I use the sissy's and other carrying pouches for toting them with me. I'm glad the outcome wasn't serious though!

Yeah, i had thought about that too when i first recieved mine. It would be very easy for a glider whose nails havenot been trimmed to get caught or even a little toe to get caught. I have never used mine in the cage-but i know others have. Thanks for the reminder about nail trimming

Aww, sugarblossoms, I have a habit of putting mine in the cage too if I know I will be able to carry Isabel with me the next day... so I don't disturb her when I am getting her out more than necessary.. of course, from now on, I will just have to disturb her for a few minutes!
Thanks for the warning!

The concept behind the sissy pouch was to have one that would easily go from cage to person. But I suppose when it all started there wasn’t a window in them. I only have one and it has a window I have been sad to see it go because it was so nice not to disturb them too much when I want to bond with them. FYI - I am not very good about trimming my suggies fingernails. -Annette

I am so glad that the glider was unharmed! If a glider's nails or not trimmed often and kept short, they can get their nails caught in virtually anything, even plain, old fleece. So this is not just a warning about what pouches you use in the cages but also about being diligent in keeping their nails trimmed.

I can tell tell you we have never had a problem with our sissy p ouches. Mom ordered 7 (maybe it was 9 i forget) and Miss Alicia sent my brother and I one in with moms order. We have an old one and the window is different. Mom Keeps the nails done every 2 weeks but she doesn't keep the sissy in the cage all the time. Mostly if she has had the gliders out and she doesn't want to wake them to go back in the cage. Ours love the corner pouch Miss Karin makes and that is the normal pouch they have in the cages. I can tell you I put the glider back in the cage once for mom and forgot to unzip the sissy pouch. Mom was mad when she got up early to give treats and found then locked in the pouch still. They spent the day with mom getting food and liquids and a lot of extra love. Now we double check that they can get out. Still a happy sissy using family here!

Well, the first Sissy's were made with no windows, no zippers, and they have changed a lot, so your right Annette. So with the added extras it is safer not to use the ones with windows in the cage, at least not without supervision.
When and if I ever find the time to reopen for custom orders, I'll update my site to include this warning.
