It's best not to use heat rocks. If your gliders are chewers, they can gnaw on the electrical cord. Even if you cover the heat rock with a safe fabric, like fleece (not socks), gliders can burrow in between the covering and rock. The rocks could also get quite warm and burn the glider. worried

It's best to keep your room at a temperature that is comfortable for you (70-85 degrees), either with house or space heaters. Also put cozy fleece pouches with lots of fleece blankies in for them to snuggle in..

I've actually been speaking with a member here (I will not mention names) that had this problem. The vet had to actually remove skin and stitch the glider back up. cry Heat rocks = not okay.

Heat rocks are a big no no. I don't know why they even still have them on the market. It is suggested to not even use them with reptiles. Back in the day before people really started taking notice about them we had a bearded dragon that got his belly burned. So out the door it went. Reptiles have pretty thick skin so if it will burn them, think of what it would do to little soft skin suggies.

Heat rocks should not even be used with reptiles, I have known many, many lizards (small and large) that have been seriously injured by hot spots on heat rocks. upset

Using a nice 'thick fleece' pouch along with several pieces of cut up fleece for blankies will work great in keeping your babies warm and cozy.

The problem that I had with my heat rock was that my oldest glider, Stitch thought she was Queen of Pride Rock, she would never get down off the darn thing and even though it wasnt plugged in, always got upset when Bella would jump on it to be Princess of Pride Rock. Goofy aminals my husband always says!
