How often do they need to be changed out? To be honest; I have NEVER had to trim my babies' nails; the trax have been perfect! I know I'm lucky; this is not always the case; but since its working I want to keep the trax in good shape. How can I tell when they need to be changed? Do I just keep watching their nails? How long is too long for nails? None are long or sharp yet; but I want to keep an eye out; I'm sure the trax do not work forever.

I've had my trim trax in for months and they're still good. However, I still do trim every so often, just not as often as I'd need to if I didn't have them. One wheel has the trim trax, one doesn't. You don't want their nails to curl at all and if you see them getting caught at all on their pouches or toys, it's time to trim - but just the tips!

Also, when the nails are uncomfortable to the touch on your skin, it's time to trim. wink

How long is the white part of the nail before it could get caught?
