it can be any color. Red just seems to be easier for others to see their gliders without it disturbing the glider's activity.

I just use regular light but have dimmer switches hooked up so I can turn down the light as needed.

Some also use those tube lights (like christmas lights) to light their rooms. They give off enough light to see by but don't seem to disturb the gliders. Also with them in the tube, much less risk of gliders chewing the cords.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

We use red overhead lights in the glider room, and red rope lights in the play room. I've heard that gliders can see red, but I don't know how true it is. Red allows us to see our gliders, and doesn't seem to bother the gliders' activity level at all.

Well I was just wondering if it had to be red for some reason. I have used both the red light and a blue one my gliders dont seem to mind either one so I was just wondering if maybe the blue or green light bulbs were harder on their eyes or something. Also I was wondering if anyone knew which light was better for taking pics of them.
