For those of you who have other animals that you treat for fleas and ticks. Remember that the treatments could be highly toxic to gliders. You may want to take measures to keep all treated animals out of reach of the cages. Just brushing on the bars of the cages could possibly transfer the toxins to your gliders paws.

Very good point! I keep my crew baby-gated away from all my other 4 legged critters. Also keep in mind when you spray that lawn for weeds and pests to close your doors and windows to prevent any from drifting into the house and possibly causing problems.

That's something good to keep on our minds. My dogs use to have the flea meds sometime last year. It's the stuff you put on her back. I stopped using it cause it never really worked. She gets a bath several times a month due to dry skin so that does help with fleas. Fleas use to be so bad I was afraid to let my dog in the room near Joey. I do know that they have repailers on their skin but I still take caution on that. As for the lawn treatments, I never touch the stuff cause I'm afraid for my dog. She eats the grass sometimes.

What about body sprays? Does that harm sugar gliders? A lady that use to live here used body spray and hair spray alot. I had to constantly tell her not to use so much and to stay out of my room when she has the smell on her. I'm thinking that it might sufficate him or cause brain damage. I have body spray but I spray it downward into the litter box that is in my room. It's a few feet from the cage. That keeps the smell from spreading.
