My molly is dehydrated! I am just came back from three days of not being here. The sitter, which is a family friend never came to feed or water. Plus her joeys are in pouch and still alive. My six other glider are ok since they had ZKS to eat that I left a lot of. I am worried since all the vets in the area are closed and the emergency animal clinic won't see sugar gliders. Any suggestions.

Thinking logically based on experience with other pets I would place a water bowl and or bottle near her favorite haunt. Make sure she has easy access and knows its available and I'm sure she will drink as needed.
Keep an eye on her and as a last resort you could try and eye dropper with water in it. You can get a sterile one from any pharmacy.
Another trick I used on a hamster was misting him with a spray bottle. He then naturally began cleaning himself and getting a minimal amount of hydration from the water on his fur. Havent tried that with a glider though.

i use pedialyte, if you don't have that, then gatorade..anything that has electrolytes in it to help rehydrate that poor baby. Keep her close to you and watch her. Try to rehydrate often and start off slow so she will not get sick from too much.

I would try and give her fluids as often as she will take them. Somtimes when they are severly dehydrated they don't feel like drinnking as they don't even know they are "thirsty". You didn't say HOW dehydrated she is and how she is acting. That could make a difference in how often and how much to get her to drink. One thing is that I would be on the door step of my vet first thing in the morning. Keep us posted.

walk in to the ER vets office don't call. once there you can tell them she needs to be SUB Q'ED. any vet can do that. I had to sign a waver saying they weren't responsible for the glider tho.

I would give gliderade and some kinda fruit like watermelon to help rehydrate her!!! I am with Cyndie, I would show up at a 24 hr. emergency hospital and don't call. The will administer subq and any vet can do that weather or not they worked with gliders before!!! Good luck and keep us posted

Thanks for all of your suggestions but unfortunatly we have lost my beloved Molly. We are striving to keep the joeys alive despite their young age.

I am hand feeding the joeys with very little hope that they will make it. They are only a month in pouch so its very unlikely that they'll make it past the first 24 hours. They are on every 30 minute feedings per the advice of many caring glider people. I hope to be the first to be able to pull these joeys through this critcal age but I doubt it very much.

Thanks for all of your concerns. I deeply appreciate them. Unfortunately the babies did not make the night. I just checked the incubator and they did pass away. I am really sad and depressed over losing Molly since she and Spyro were my first gliders ever. They taught me everything. They were always their to comfort and taught me a lot of patience. Now I am just worried about Spyro since he is now alone. I kmow I will have to find him a mate soon since he and Molly were so attached I do not need him to get depressed and pass also. So he will be getting a lot of special attention until I find him someone again to cuddle with. Thanks Again to all who helped in this situation!

I am so very sorry! It is so hard when you lose special friends like that. I hope that you and Spyro can be of comfort to each other and that you find him a new mate soon. (((((HUGS)))))

Oh Im soo sorry!! At least Molly is not suffering and her and her babies are in heaven together. My deepest sympathies!! Have you contacted the person who was supposed to be taking care of them? Well her helper (Debbie I think) had to leave so they had to cut down on the ammount of gliders and I think I read in one of her newsletters that she might be selling a few of the older ones.
