One of our joeys, Reese, escaped her cage, and we didn't even know about it 'till just now. My daughter went to remover the food plates from the cages about 10 this morning. All cages were locked like they were supposed to be, but somehow Reese escaped. At about 5:00, my step-daughter went to put her coat on, and screamed "A Glider!!!" Since I had just gotten up from a nap, I thought she said "A Spider" and paid no attention. I thought shurely she could take care of a little spider. That was until my wife brought her to me and asked "Who is this??" I looker her over, and said it was Reese, and asked her why. I was then told that she had been sleeping in Mandy's coat. She is safe and sound back in her cage now, with her neice and nephew, Rosie and Racer. I will re-evaluate their cage here later, and modify the door some.

That was lucky to find her so fast. When my older gliders got out and did not want to get back into the cage they would hide in the couch and it was almost impossible to find them!
Glad little Reese is safe :-)

I'm so glad Reese is ok.
We had a glider loose before for a whole day. We had trimmed Gidgets nails and that always makes her kind of sullen. When i was going by their room later I thought Oh yeah I wanted to take their ferret boat out for a good cleaning. Took the boat out to remind myself about cleaning it later. Cleaned it later and put it back in the cage. When I got home from work about 1030pm I went to put food in the cage. Turned on the light and there was Gidget running along the top of the curtains. the cage was locked up tight so she must have been in the boat when it was taken out and must have explored the room some and curled up in some of the excess glider bedding on one of the shelves. Good thing she never left the room since I had a large parrot at the time.
Again so glad Reese is safe and sound.

Whew! I am so glad you found Reese safe and sound! My heart skipped a beat when I read about it. Gliders are escape artists, aren't they?

Reese was the first I have had escape in a long, long time. I have had tehm run past me while cleaning cages, fedding, ect, but not just outright escape. I moved the springs that holds their door shut, and that solved the problem. No more jailbreaks!!!
