[:"red"] [/] I can't believe it my Dexter escaped outside again.
[:"black"] [/] I just spent the last hour and a half looking for my sugar glider Dexter. Guess where I found him? Outside again. He came gliding out of the trees right onto my shoulder. Boy was I relieved and mad all at the same time . The night before I found him outside on the neighbors's fence. Apparently he was just making a new friend with the neighbor's cat. But who knows, a couple of minutes later and he could have been cat food. I originally assumed he escaped thru one of my windows. The window had a screen on it, but because of the windy conditions the night before it got knocked off without me realizing it. Anyways, he was playing in the room while I was on the computer. This time I made sure the windows were closed just in case. All of a sudden it got quiet and I started to panic. But for sure I thought he was in the room, so I began to tear my room apart looking for him. Afer over an hour of no success in locating him I decided to check outside. He didn't come to me until the fourth time I went outside. I guess he was busy enjoying his outdoor freedom and watching the stars. What's especially puzzling is he's been playing in this room for about four months now. I was almost certain it was glider proof. Obviously there is a way out somewhere besides the window. Tomorrow I'm going to spend all day looking for his escape route. If anybody out there has any suggestions about what I should do please let me know. Cause right now my little Dexter is making me feel really small and stupid. Escaping one night is bad enough, but two nights, that's unheard of.

Maybe he flattened himself out and squeezed underneath the door? But then that means he would probably have to go threw the whole house to get outside... hmmm

Oh man, you sure have a trickster on your hands. You are lucky he is so bonded to you. Because if he wansn't he could have taken off for good. (as you all know, if they don't want to be caught they wont be.) I hope you can figure out how he got out. Keep us all posted, who knows maybe it'll help the rest of us see an unknown troublespot. I am glad he is safe!

If it was a door he got under, you can buy a door sweep (i think thats what its called) its a plastic flap that gets screwed to the bottom of your door, impossible for suggies to get under. I know after we installed that, our babies haven't been able to get out Was quite a shock to wake up in the early morning to my hubby saying something was hopping around in the bathroom. LOL Luckily we got them all back in their room in a manner of minutes, but that scared the living daylights out of me. Maybe if you describe the room a little more detailed as to where its positioned, I can come up with some ideas of where else they could have snuck out from.

One of my gliders, aptly named Khaos, escaped while we were staying at family members home. He got out of his cage in the middle of the night, found his way through the recroom, up the stairs, under the door, and around the main floor of a strange house. I woke up with him dancing on my head. Smart little buggers arent they?!

That is really scary!! You should really always watch them while they are playing outside of their cage. They can be mischievous little things. You just never know what will happen when you take your eyes off of them. Do you have a tent to play in?

Yeah I do have a tent for them to play in. The funny thing is he's been playing in this room for almost half a year now. I was almost certain that the room was glider proof. I think I found the source though. There's a piping beside the laundry machine that leads to the foundation of the house. I think he's been escaping through there. I definitely have to keep a close eye on him. Now that he's escaped once, he's definitely going to try to find other ways to get out and experience the freedom again.

Is there possibly another room you can but Dexter in? You are very lucky "Houdini" is loyal! That must have been very scary for you. I can't imagine. You are one lucky glider pet! Jessie, Gizmo and Max
