I'll keep this short since it is 4 am
I woke to the sound of a sugar glider scurry I jumped out of bed sure enough bandit was running around after 20 min chasing him I relized akasha was missing too after much searching I found her ..... the toilet it was much to late for her and her unborn joey I have read so many times about the toilet but living in a house with a toddler potty training it is easier to secure cages than potties 5 months it took them to find a way out anyways part of the reason I am posting is her mate bandit is very freaked out I took them in as rescues and they never did bond well to me and I am worried about bandit dying of sadness he is shaking all over if anyone in colorado has a mate that he could be paired with message me he is 2 1/2 years old and I will give him to a GOOD home that has a mate for him any other suggestions on how to help a glider that doesn't really like people please ... poor thing just keep shaking

One thing that might help him is showing him her dead body. He most likely doesn't know she's dead and just think she's off running around with out him. My glider Shmi died while in the cage with her mate Smegal. Smegal seemed much more aware and accepting of her death because of it too...

Let him see her body. It helps. We lost a male a few months ago, and it really helped his mate to be able to spend a little time sniffing around his body. The company of gliders she is used to helped her a lot, I believe.

I'm so sorry to hear this happened. Your little one will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

I am in Colorado, and have a very nice and accepting trio that includes 2 girls and a neutered male, all 6 years old. I would be happy to try to help you find a mate for this little one or even take him in if you wish. Let me know.

It's so sad I went to check on him first thing he felt my hand touch the bag and came out all excited and then crumpled himself back in his bag once he realized it was me he is very sad a glider who would almost never let me touch him just looks at me from the corner of his eye when i pet him we do still have the boys from the last babies they had they are 5 months old would it be to hard to reintroduce him to them or would it be best to find him a permenant mate right away ? I did show him her body this morning before I buried her he looked at her in complete horror and bolted across the room *sigh* poor bandit **** I will try and see how he pulls through if he doesn't pick up a bit in the next day or so I will get with you about placing him with one of your gliders thank you so much .....

Try re-introducing him to his sons. Gliders tend to be much more excepting of family...

Oh my! Since you still have his sons... by all means... try to reintroduce them! It's a blessing that you have them!

Don't know if any of them are neutered or not, but you may want to consider having at least 2, if not all 3, of them fixed before too long. This would decrease the chances of them fighting once the little boys mature some more.

Keep a close eye to make sure daddy isn't bullying the little guys. I'll be thinking of you! Please update us!
