I know torpor is rare, but as it's getting to the time of year when it is a potential risk I thought I'd link you to an article my friend wrote on the emergency procedure for gliders in torpor:

Torpor- Emergency Procedure and Info

This guide has helped me personally a lot, and has saved a lot of gliders, so hopefully you'll find it useful smile

Good article. My Sydney as she got older had a tendency to go into torpor as she got older. I always had to be very careful to make sure that she was in the pouch with the others because if she tried to sleep on her own her body temperature would drop dramatically. When I had to have her on her own, I had to make sure that she had a heating pad under her cage to give her the additional warmpth. Initially the vet could find no reason for this and believed it was due to her age. However, within a year of her "episodes", it was discovered that she had a very large agressive tumor in her abdomen and her going into torper may have been a symptom of the tumor's growth. At this point tho it is all theories and supposition, because we will never truely know for certain.
