Yes..also vinegar (white reg. too and baking soda) My mother would fill the sink and add a bit of Clorox, then the veggies or fruits. She drove me nuts with that so I've never done it. LOL I'm thinking though, since we peel the fruit and (sometimes veggies) that it doesn't matter? As long as they are rinsed and a clean knife is used. Just my thoughts

That's interesting cleaning the fruits and veggies with peroxide and vinegar. I have always worried about buying imported fruits and veggies and try to buy USA products when possible. The thing about it is, are USA products any better after being out in the bins with people handling them, coughing, sneezing, etc.? You have no way of knowing how many people have come through the store with all sorts of bacteria to pass on to the unwary. Guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to use the peroxide and vinegar on all fruits and veggies that are going to be consumed raw.

I refuse to buy imported fruits...ick. Unless you consider Hawaii imported? lol I do wash the fruits and veggies..with water, then rub them hard dry. I get most of my stuff here home grown...lucky on that (veggies and some fruits)

Charlie, Have you done any more research on this? The fact that the solution of peroxide and apple cider vinegar kills the bacteria is good and I think I will start using it in the kitchen. Is that peroxide first and then the vinegar? The thing about it removing parasites and insecticides: parasites - maybe, insecticides - from reading post about tree branches, etc. that have been sprayed, I doubt it. Let us know if you find any more information on it.
