why 2 pouches? - 04/25/05 08:04 PM
I was wondering, whats the significance of having a sleeping pouch AND a bonding pouch? why cant you use one for both?

I don't have a sleeping pouch. I do have 3 bonding pouches though, this way I'm always sure to have a clean one. The bonding pouches are hung in the cage for sleeping.

I have several pouches in my guys cage, all different. On different nights he sleeps in different ones. I like to give him the option. I have zippered bonding pouches so I dont leave those in his cage, his little toe could get stuck.

I have 6 different pouches. Two are zippered windowed pouches, two are zippered non window pouches and two are open pouches(no window or zipper). I use the open ones for the cage pouches if they want to sleep in them they can and usually do. If I am hanging out around the house sometimes I wear them in an open pouch or in my shirt. I have two of each kind just because I'm OCD about back ups and I have a selection on wash day.

I mostly use pouches that double as cage pouches and bonding pouches. The same pouch clips on to the cage for sleeping and/or clips on to a strap for bonding.
I do give them more than one option of places to sleep because...well...they are spoiled. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/muchlove.gif" alt="" />

Yeah all of mine double as cage pouch/bonding pouch. I have two zippered non window, two zippered window and two open pouches.
The main reason for having separate pouches like that is that the sleeping pouches tend to get smelly becuase of scent marking, and most people don't want to carry around a stinky pouch when they're out of the house.
