Black beauties are so nice, if you actually have one with as deep and dark markings as that in your pic Leyna (very nice btw). Seems most though just look like a slightly darker grey. I don't see why breeders charge more for them. I would pay more for that glider, but most I have seen, I would personally just call grey.

I have a black beauty. He is a darker grey throughout his entire body, especialy his head. His face markings are wider and darker, the striped down his head extends all the way down his nose, his ear bars and eye bars ar conented all the way around and extend down around his lips. Hope this helps <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Re: Black Beauty Question - 04/21/05 05:20 AM
Okay, I'm still a bit confused about the difference between a normal and "black beauty". Here is a picture of Sabrina and Spyce. Sabrina on the left and Spyce on the right. Spyce is very much darker in the face than Sabrina is (don't know if you can see in the pic). We're thinking that Spyce might be a black beauty because she is so much darker, but so confused on how to tell the difference. A lot of the pics I see of "black beauties" actually kinda look the same as Sabrina. Spyce is so much darker in the face than any pics I've seen of black beauties. Can anyone help?

Black beauties aren't defined so much by their color as by their markings. A nice looking black beauty should have very heavy markings. Their stripe should be wide and extend down to and around their nose, their markings should compleatly suround thier ears, and the arm bands should be dark and thick. Also, their fur generally has a dark casting. Where as most gliders are gray flaked with white, black beauties are generally a darker gray or brown flacked with black. I personally would say that your little girls looks like a black beauty to me.
