Soon to be Mommy not eating.... - 12/21/05 02:51 PM

I have a sugar glider that has babies in the pouch. I am concerned that she is not eating the right kinds of food .
I give her BML w/fruits and veggies. I also add wombaroo for extra calcium and mealies. She seems to only be eating the mealies. The dad seems to have cut back on his eating too . Is this normal? I am just worried and want to make sure that I am doing everything right. Thank You in advance for all your help

My female always gets a little pickey from time to time when she's pregnant, just keep offering the bml and other protein sources (with the reg fruit and veggies).

Also, try giving the mealworms to her in the early morning or her evening before she goes to sleep, that way when she wakes up later that night, she is hungry and not filled up on mealies when she should be eating her very necessary vitamins and calcium.

I wanted to add; I notice a slight dietary change when it gets chilly outside with mine, although it's warm inside where they are, still eat a little less, then they make up for it here and there, little monkeys!

It is very important that she is getting enough. Mine also tend to slow down on eating the closer it gets to the joeys coming oop, Like Cycy said try giving her her mealies in the day time so she is hungry for real food by the time night comes. They are so much like little kids, they will eat all the treats first and save the healthy stuff for very last.
