yucca - safe for gliders? - 09/20/18 06:51 PM
My parrot enjoys chewing up / shredding the dried yucca pieces that are commonly found in bird toys. I know gliders aren't typically chewers, but I was curious as to whether they may also be given yucca as toys. Does anyone know if yucca is safe for gliders?

I don't think it would hurt them, but it would smell from them peeing on it.

I use fresh branches but I live in a suburban/rural area and do not spray my Crape Myrtle with pesticides-only dawn dish detergent and let the rain rinse them. I change out the limbs every so often. They seem to love it and it has really solved my need to trim their nails as well!

Critter Love actually has a toy called the "Shreddable Edible" that gliders LOVE to chew up and play on.
As for it smelling, nope, no smell. But by the time they get done chewing it up, you will have to replace it.
GREAT for teeth and mental stimulation.
