Folding Portable Condo - 03/22/05 06:00 PM

This weekend, I wanted Joy & Noel to come play at the hotel with us, but I couldn't stand to put them in a small cage for the night. Instead, I went down to Home Depot(yes, I do own stock)and boght some supplies. $30 and one hour later, I had a 3x2x2 ft. folding home for them.

It folds flat and takes up very little space. It takes 5 min. or less to set up and they have a nice vacation condo. Tear down is just as easy. they then travel in the back seat in their roomy sissy pouch.

Has anyone else done this? I found it to be superior to anything that would fit it my car.

Can you post a picture of it?

Pictures.. directions, detailed sketches.. heh. Actually anything would be nice to see. I'm looking at doing some traveling in the fall and will need to make a couple things for my crew. ( I pray I don't get adopted by more or the car will be packed with nothing BUT glider things.)

I will try to take pictures soon. Basically, the 4 sides are connected by zip ties. The top and bottom are connected on one side by zip ties(so it will fold). To set up, the other sides are connected by weed eater cord(easier to take on and off than zip ties). There is also a shelf.

I took my two gliders on a trip with me this past weekend and I used a folding pet cage. It's used for dogs and cats but I thought it was perfect for my gliders. A little expensive but a good size and it is even washable. I attached a picture. I'd love to see a pic of the cage that you built though.

[:"blue"] I have seen people post they use the Jr. Dome Tent from Walmart ($20) for short trips with success. Small reptariums are also good since the come apart completely and the mesh can be thrown in the washing machine when you return home [/]

I use the same tent for play time, but it's huge! LOL, should've seen the look on the roommates face first time I had it up after getting Kamui! LOL, it takes up most of our apartment! When people come over and I have it up, I justtell them, "eh, I felt like camping" always the same response "IN YOUR LIVING ROOM???!!!"
