ledges? - 05/02/05 12:40 AM

i know most peoples cages have shelfs or ledges in their glider cages, so the gliders can sit or wateva. my cage doesnt have that as it is a parrot cage and i was wondering if i put up my corner hammocks, hammocks and stuff like that, would that work just the same as the ledges, or should i go buy some?

You are able to buy some...a good reason would be to put the food up high. If you have branches and toys, then they don't necessarily need the extra ledges. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I have never used hammocks as ledges. I use the screen tops for reptile tanks that you can buy at a pet store and put them on the sides of the cage upside down so it has a ledge and they cannot push any thing off of it.

Two of my cages don't have ledges. I use corner hammocks and branches for them.

That is a great idea! I never even thought of using the screen tops of a reptile cage!!!! I like that. We have about five different shelves in their cage, but all the toys end up on the bottom of the cage. So we have been trying to think up ideas on how to add ledges to the shelves. hmmm...I need to go to the pet store and buy a screen top. Do most pet stores have the screen tops sold seperately from the cage?
Thanx for the great idea!!
