Okay, a friend of mine has a cage that is 5 feet x 36 inches, hexagon shape. They had birds in it, but they all died and they are getting rid of the cage. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />My question is, is it okay to use this for the gliders after the birds were in it? What should I clean it with to make sure it is safe?

Thanks for any input!

I would use a bleach solution & a scrub brush. Go over it twice to make sure it's good and clean. Rinse well. Before you go to all that trouble though, what kind of wire is it? If it is galvanized, you cannot use it.

No, it is actually powder coated. I think it is the Suncoast hexagon cages.

Perfect! Just make sure you clean it really well & look for any rust or sharp egdes that could harm your babies.

Oh, those are so cool! Like Monster said, go over with bleach a couple times and rinse well. Powder coated is good.
