Is it okay to use Galvanized cage material ??? - 12/02/05 12:18 AM

I can not find any vinyl coated cage material to make a cage with 1/2 spacing or smaller. Is Galvanized okay to use?? Please help. it will be greatly appreciated. Carey

Carey, no, don't use galvanized. When gliders pee on it, the urine reacts to the metal and can cause urinary tract infections. Also, most galvanized metal has sharp edges or burrs on it that can injure small animals.

Do you have a Home Depot or Lowes near you. Most can find the coated wire there. Or you can order from Klubertantz.com.

I tried at lowes, did not find any <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Lowes in my area did not have it either. But, Home Depot did. Good luck
