Best toys for outside the cage/glider room - 04/07/06 12:08 AM

I want to make a room devoted to my gliders and make it like a huge jungle gym for them. What are some good toys to get? Im going to get one of those ikea towers and I also saw that Callejean has a cool cieling thing that Im thinking about getting. Does anyone have that and how do you like it? Does anyone have anymore ideas?

the toys for birds that hang from the ceiling like the twisted rope with the bell on the end and the big circle rope toy mine love. Mine also love the plastic vines but only supervised if your gliders are chewersi also hung up cheap sheets on the walls so they could have something to glide to. And they like cat bell balls to.

Attached is a photo of our glider play room. We change it up all the time, but ropes from wall to wall and fleece sheets on the walls are the way to go. I also have pouches hanging at various points on the walls and they love running in and out of these ~ also they give me peace of mind that if they ever escaped from the cage they might go sleep in them.

We also have a 5' fake tree that they love running around in.

My gliders love the silk trees. My female likes to go rip the leaves off and carry them into her cage.

I also built them a large "glider gym" made of PVC pipes covered in fleece. They love to jump back and forth of it.

I also have a hanging gym I bought from Kayla a while back. My gliders love to climb it and glide from one gym to the other.

On the blinds I hung fleece blinds and they crawl under and over them.

I also use the room for studying and when we have guests (except I give up my room for them and I sleep with the gliders ) so I have to keep it somewhat tame.

I do plan on getting one of those ceiling nets soon!

Some time recently while I was surfing glider sites I did see an item that I want to either buy or make - it was a large square piece of material that you attach up on a wall, and it had pockets and toys attached to it, reminded me of a quilt. I guess the gliders like to play and climb on it - nice because it takes up no floor space whatsoever!
