I've gone STEALTH! - 02/09/06 03:20 PM

Holy smokes! My stealth wheel arrived yesterday! I put it in Tinky's cage after tent time and just let her check it out. She immediately did the sniff test and would stand up and look into it but wouldn't get in. As soon as I woke up this morning, I felt like she was telling me..."LOOK MAMA! THIS IS GREAT! THANK YOU!" She ran over as soon as she saw me watching her and jumped in the wheel and took off! She stopped a few seconds later, rode it around a few spins, and then stopped to see if i was still watching her. She then proceeded to run in it, and then jump on the outside and go for a ride It was great! And...I have a strong feeling that this is how she spend most of the night because she is already SOUND ASLEEP and she usually doesn't really get to sleeping soundly until about 10:30. I LOVE IT!!! So...thank you to everyone who convinced me to spend a little extra money on a GREAT product

One quick question, After putting the wheel in her cage, it kinda wanted to slide/move around on the floor. I ended up taking a few twist ties and hooking it to the floor and the wall just to stablize it. What does everyone else do so that the wheel isn't sliding all over the cage?

We usually take cable ties and attach it to the side of the cage with the back bar or do just as you did and attach it to the bottom of the cage!!

Havent heard of a glider yet that didnt like a Stealth!

Im sure you are now your baby's hero!

I guess I have to trust the words of someone who lives right down the road from me. LOL
I'm on exit 25. Where are you?

I do the same as Peggy and use cable ties to hold the stand to the side of the cage.

And now that you've gone Stealth....I bet you'll never go back!

Stealths are the best!

Also, you will discover that zip ties (cable ties) are a glider owners favorite tool. You can use them for just about everything when decorating cages. (I'd hate to count up how many zip ties I've used in the past 8 years!!!)

Whenyou want to clean your stealth wheel, do you just cut the ties and use new ones?

Yes, those seem hard to remove.

You can't go wrong with a Stealth! If you get the KIT or the EXTREME you will have a happy glider. (NOTE the extreme is my FAV! the difference is the stands) Yes a happy glider has a stealth at home .......and a happy mom doesn't hear the 5 wheels when she sleeps!

Because the Stealth has the open front they are very easy to just wipe down when hanging in the cage. They don't get anywhere near as dirty as the closed running surface wheels so also won't need to be cleaned as often.

I just take a rag or Clorox wipe and give it a quick wipe off every couple of days. Then on major cleaning days, they stay tied up and get hosed off with the cage

Re: I've gone STEALTH! - 02/10/06 03:14 AM

I was wondering about the difference between the StealthXtreme and StealthKit. Is it just the stands? If you hang it on the side of the cage and don't use the stands, then, would the StealthKit be just as good as the StealthXtreme?

I have that same question, can the stealth kit also as easily attached to the cage. I will not be using a stand either so info on this would be super-duper appreciated!

Thanks

Re: I've gone STEALTH! - 02/12/06 04:33 PM

I think that the kit has to sit on the bottom of the cage while the extreme is easier to hook to the top or side of the cage.
The kit has the PVC pipe base so it sturdier for sitting and not tipping when your buggers are going wild at night and having a good ole time. LOL
I think that I'll get the extreme.

yes get the kit IF you don't plan to use the stand. You will need to get LARGE washers to hold the wheel on the cage side. I use the extremes. I like that the stand is powder coated and the stand has 3 different adjustments to pace the wheel on. I use a different hole for different needs. Joeys always get the hole closer to the bottom so they can get in easier. The PVC frame is bigger around (1/2" pvc I think) so it takes more room than I want to give up lol. I think the extreme will be in pet stores one day it is that good of a product!
