now my question is when we go to breed them should we introduce the male into the females cage or should we introduce the females into the males cage ?

The male and female should be cage mates. If you have sibling girls, you can put the male in with both but first you will need to work on their acceptance. Gliders are not like dogs, you cannot just bring in a stud and then remove the male.
Gliders are family oriented and the male helps take care of the babies. His scent is on his cage and your girls scent is on their cage-my opinion is just next door is not good enough. If you are not familiar with their needs, you are probably not ready to breed. Please research these babies because your current plan is not a good one.

As Claralice said you need to introduce your male to your female. The father stays with her as he place a important role once the babies are out of pouch.

It is daddy's job to watch the joeys while mom eats and plays.
It isn't like breeding dogs, cats, rabbits or cattle.

Feather aka Kim and Claralice are so right. It is very important to keep the pair together not only for the reasons above but to keep mom's stress level way down while she is pregnant and once the joeys are oop (out of pouch). She truly needs all the help she can get from dad in order to have healthy joeys. Good diet and both parents make a huge difference.

the gliders we have now have never been bred , 2 females are cagemates and the male was kept by himself but the cages are side by side so they have interaction
with each other as if they were semi cagemates .. my question was and still is , when we decide to try and breed them do we put male into females cage or do we add females to males cage ?

Are both cages the same size or is one bigger than the other? If there is a difference, then go with the bigger one.

Whichever you choose, introductions should be done slow and careful. They make take to each other easily and you may have one that does not.
