Foot Tangled in Pouch-Pt 2

Foot Tangled in Pouch-Pt 2 - 07/18/03 02:28 PM

I'm taking Rocky to the vet at 11:00. He's still not really using his little foot, and it looks like the blackness is spreading up his toe. I'm afraid it may really have to be amputated. I hope the rest of his foot is ok. It still is red and a little swollen.

I'll post how he is when I get back.

O boy, crossing my fingers for little Rocky. Happy you are taking him to the vet for assessment...we wouldn't want him in pain or to get worse. Good luck!

Well, we're back from the vet. Rocky did have to have the end of his toe removed. He has just a little nub there . I said in another post that I had never, ever in the year and 1/2 I've had him, heard him crab. But he sure did today, poor baby. (I did take him to City Vet, Melissa. I said you had recommended her, but I didn't know your last name, lol.) Dr. G. said that she thought the rest of her foot would be ok after the swelling went down. She gave me antibiotics and ointment. I'm glad he is going to be ok, although I feel awful about his toe . He is such a sweet boy.

Thank you everyone for your concern!

Glad to hear that he's ok, sorry to hear about his toe. At least it wasn't his whole foot.

That's great news!!! His little foot will soon heal and you'll never know it's missing! I had one who had to have a toe amputated, and he's perfectly normal, doesn't even know it's missing!
Give him some lovin and a mealie from us!
