Nearly lost 3 of my gliders

Nearly lost 3 of my gliders - 11/27/03 05:37 PM

I have an extremely strenuous job of framing houses. I have to get up at 5:30am every morning to get to the jobsite by 7:00am. I fed my gliders as usual that night, and everyone was happy. But dumb ole me forgot to reset the window unit for heat because it was the first night that it was supposed to dip into the 40-50s. I woke up late for work because I forgot to set my alarm clock, but I'd had a dream about my gliders which doesn't happen to often, so I decided to check on them even though I was already late for work (it was 6:47am when I woke up, no way to get dressed and get the the jobsite by 7:00am). Both Willow and Milo were in an extremely groggy state and cold, their baby wasn't far behind, but he was more active that they were. I had to get my mom to keep them with her in the bathroom with the heater blowing in their direction. Luckily everyone came out ok, but this is a friendly reminder to NEVER forget to set your heater/AC for the proper temperature before you go to bed. I nearly lost all 3 of them to the cold.

Whew! Thank goodness you got to them soon enough and everything worked out!

Wow! Thanks for the friendly reminder. Even in Phoenix, it's starting to get a bit chilly at nights. I've got my space heater set up! You must have a special bond with your babies to be dreaming about them as you did.

always keep a few fleece blankets in their pouches i keep 3 big squares in each bed. just go to a fabric shop or walmart and buy a yard of fleece and cut big squares and throw it in their pouches.
