I wish someone would tell me
what it is I’ve done wrong,
why my mom put me in this cage
and left me here so long?
She said we would be the best of friends
and would go everywhere
but now I am in this cage alone
and she doesn’t seem to care.
I admit I was crabby
and nipped a little too.
But if you were in a whole new place
and you got scared, what would you do?
My auntie said to get me a mate
that maybe I’d calm down
but mom decided it was to late
and drove me into town.
She took me to this little shop
where lots of animals lived.
She told the man to take me
for what ever he would give.
And she turned around and left.
She didn’t say goodbye,
she didn’t shed a tear,
my little heart was breaking
but the sound she did not hear.
The man did not know me
or what I liked to eat.
He gave me nothing but hard dried food
and little bits of seeds.
He didn’t know I liked the dark
and that I slept most through the day.
He let the people wake me
and when I’d crab he’d say,
I was a mean little booger. No one would ever want me because I would never love.
Not true I screamed but my voice was never heard.
Then one day in came an angel. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frostyangel.gif" alt="" />
She scooped me up and held me close
and said were going home.
I crabbed at her and even tried to bite
but she only held me closer and said it was alright.
So home with her I went,
not like I had a choice
and there my heart did soar
when I beheld the site.
My new home was a mansion
filled with all kinds of wonderous things.
I had all the yummy stuff to eat
that I had ever dreamed.
She put me in a nice fleece bag
and held me near her heart.
That is when my love did swell,
I had a brand new start.
