#107875 - 06/05/06 02:09 PM *small* glider-safe tent?
Anonymous

When I got my first glider last year, i searched local stores for a small tent that is completely zippered. I couldn't find one, so I settled for 7X9'. It was fine then, but now I've moving and the only place I have to put the tent is in the glider/craft room which is quite small and has to accomodate the cage and the two tables. I've had my eye out for one of those small children's play tents, but i can't find any that zipper up all the way. now I'm really stuck.
any suggestions on where I can find a good SMALL tent?

Last time I checked... there were a few small ones at Walmart way in the back there, also we got ours (5 x 5) at Target not to far back for 10 bucks and it came with a sleeping bag even!

I got my tent yesterday at Target for $20. Its plain blue, zips all the way up, I think the 5X5 size. I have a very small space as well, and it fits perfect.

I have a question about thses tents. The one I purchased has those poles and takes few minutes to set up, but when I was little, I remember having one of those tents that just sort of pop up! What are all of yours like?

Thanks,
Chelsey

yup, wal mart has gone global, so they are all over canada (but for various ethical and political reasons, i refuse to buy from them).
that's a good question about the pop-up tents. I would love one, but I haven't even found one online. would they even zip up all the way? that's the real issue with kids tents, because a lot of them are meant for indoor use so they don't zip up. for safety, too, i guess.
thanks guys!!

You can find the pop ups online, but the cheapest I've seen is around $60, but really, I'm thinking they might be worth the expense. It's hard to find one that has a floor in it though. Most of them are screen tents without a floor. I think the one I saw was at Cabellas....can't remember for sure though.

I have the exact same one...it works really great. You can find it a couple of rows over from the large tents.

HERE is a link to a pop up tent. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />. I have this one and it is so fast and simple to put up and down <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />. It has a floor and zipps closed.

The only thing is that the mesh windows aren't as large as the kid tents, but it does have windows on 3 sides.

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> if you go to ebay and do a search for playhut (one word) you will find all different types of popup things in all different price ranges. You can also go to playhut.com and see all the different types there are out there and then jus keept and eye out for them.

...My fav is the 6x6 (and 8x8) screen rooms that are 'twist-n-fold' ..im personally keepin an eye out for one of those cuz they look awesome <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

[:"#666666"] Hello <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />Gunter_van_Walstein,
This is not a "pop up tent" but it's small and all mesh sides <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
(not to mention sooooooooo cute (very similar to the "be good to bugs" tent that is popular but hard for some to find))
My little ones LOVE their "pop up tent" ...(it's kinda high priced now <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />I ordered mine in the winter and was MUCH cheaper then.)
I slide it under my bed or prop it up against the wall in my closet! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif" alt="" />
HTH <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> [/]

Does that second one you listed have a zippered enclosure?

[:"#666666"] <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />Chelss,
The second one is COMPLETELY closed in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />
It has TWO zippers on the front that goes all the way around that whole side <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
you could kinda see a bit of it in this pic <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Wow that's pretty spiffy! Sliding it under the bed sounds like a good idea! Hehe. I like the way you set yours up with all the chains and whatnot. Thanks again.
