Usually, the contract just helps protect the breeder and the buyer against problems. A lot of people offer a health guaruntee and they want to put it in writing. As well as " breeder" or "pet only" terms. Also, most breeders will have somewhere on the contract that they have to be contacted before anybody else if you have to get rid of your glider, usually it has to go back to the breeder. I know I've been burned a couple times with people trying to weasle out of reading all the terms and policies I have so I put them all on my contract. It depends on the breeder if they send it via email or mail. I know I usually send it to them over email so they can just look at it. Then, I will print out two copies, sign them and send them to the new owner. Then I will get the one copy back signed by both of us.

This is how I have received 2/3's of the contracts I have signed. First by email and then hard copy's in person. I think it is better than way. You can address any concern before meeting. Usually they are just made from the breeder. They can be, but I think that many people on here get a lot of help from one another as the one's I have read have been very similar.

best option for a legally binding contract is a hard copy that has been notarized.

You definitely need the hard copy and have it notorized to be legally binding.

Laws may vary from one state to another about the requirements for a binding contract. Check with your clerk of court to find out if email correspondence can be considered binding.
You can negotiate by email, but I would put all of the agreed terms into a single written document and have it signed and notarized.

What constitutes as an electronic signature? Saying yes I agree and it being from your email address? I think what she meant was, you email the contract to the person - they print it out and sign it - then they scan it and email it back. I have customers do that myself.
