Khaleesi, my hermaphrodite glider, is suddenly mounting Oliver, which he HATES. She's nipping his neck and I swear it looks like mating. Should I separate them?

Sorry you haven't got any answers to this question, I'm also sorry I don't have any for you as I'm not real knowledgable on breeding/mating.

There are plenty of members here who are, someone should be along soon.

However, just in my opinion, if there is wounds to your glider, please separate them until healing and wait and see what input you have. If no wounds, then may be ok to wait for farther input, but keep close eye and inspect your gliders frequently.

I would say he is exerting his dominance over the other male. Being that he is a hermaphrodite and exhibits both sexes and that he is doing it to a boy glider I would say he plans on being the dominant male in the cage.

I have had trios of males and had pairs of females that do that to each other, they are just establishing pecking order.

Don't I know it! Leave it to the lesbians to end up with a hermaphrodite sugar glider! At least we're open minded as far as what sexuality she is!
