OK quick rundown. A person I know who purchased a PP glider and setup.

They have had to take the glider to the vet a couple times. ( I was called and asked questions by her and her daughter is really upset) The first time was a apparent toe infection ( took to course of meds to clear up. and now I texted and called cause the little glider appears to have (lack of a better description) tail rot. The tail become stiff and turning black. the vet ( only repeating what I am told) said it broken and has to be amputee and the vet believes it all cause of the cage ( not sure how but). I am looking for a vet number I can pass a
long to her to give the vet she going too ( windcrest) to help her out some for a referring incase they need more xp. I know she having money issues as she between Jobs( happened right after second vet trip ) so she limited on she has (aka net access) I am would like a number(s) to pass along to help her out, I will be checking glider central on my phone so just post it here. I also gotten the vet office numbers off the database that closest for her.

Here is the list of Consult Vets that her vet may call (these vets only speak with other vets).

If the tail is broken and becoming necrotic, then it does appear that it will need to have its tail amputated. I don't know how the cage could have caused it though, unless the tail was caught in the door when they closed it? (grasping here, not making accusations) Although too small IMO, a PP cage is a very safe and good quality cage.

If she is in need of financial assistance, she may want to contact LEAP. They are the only ones I know of that are currently helping when they can. Sugar Glider LEAP

just a update for those that care. The lady had to help her daughter's glider to the other side today , the vet told them the infection in the toe spread up the leg ( making the glider not use it at all) and that the tail break and( dying) had caused another infection also, and the 2 were just making almost impossible to have her tail amputated. The lady's daughter was so upset she was in tears 2 hours later when they stopped in the store. The owner has been told to contact PP due this. When she came n the cage does have sharp edges every were seems like they had a batch of razor sharp ( almost) fasteners, and another section of the cage should of never been used in the building of it. My wife and I are going to see how our money will be and are going to talk to a friend that breeds and try and get the girl a glider. (with the requirement that the cage be replaced with a proper one with no sharp edges ( if pocket-pets don't step up) I can see how the glider had gotten injuries this was the sloppiest I ever seen a cage assembled. I don't better work one the first one I had to assemble at work. Just running my finger over one side of the edges I could feel the skin snagging on sharp edges (and I got thick fingers lol)

Yeah this really irked me more than I though , I guess Pocket Pets needs to up their quality control.

It upsets me more cause this little girl mother had gotten Luna( glider's name) for her birthday and had spent an additional 2-3 grand (outside the purchase of the glider kit) trying to save her. The girl had done so much research on her own I was shocked she knew more than I did on some parts of it. I think even if I have to skip out on some xmas shopping for others I may end up going after a replacement glider for her on my own. I just got to figure out how to acquire a proper cage for her,. I know I can get my wife to make her a couple cage sets once I get the glider lol..

That's just so sad. I do appreciate her love and efforts to help her sugar glider, huge kudos to her for that. What a heartbreaking situation though.

Rough edges could cause issues no doubt. Is this one of the 24 X 18 X 18 cages they sell with their gliders?
Who was the one to assemble this cage?

Was the sale at the pet store or mall/expo??

Was though the store but I not sure when it was given to her I know that the cages go fast as some people buy them for temp cages when they get gliders off Craig list. As for assembler I don't know who done it, it could of came to us preassembled as far as I know.
