Does anyone know how to change the avatar to a custom avatar. I have been trying since last night to use a 80x57 pixel .gif picture and it wont upload. I tried changing image type to .png and that didnt work either. And a little while ago it acted like it changed it but now no picture shows up. Will it load later? Any suggestions on how to get a different avatar up?

Do you have the image in a hosting account such as PhotoBucket? You can't load a pic directly to GC without using a hosting account. Not sure if that was the issue?

I was using DropBox at first then I just used Internet Explorer. Neither would work. Its weird because they are the right size and the right picture file type it just wouldnt load it. Is DropBox not a valid photo source?

I know this is bringing up an old post here, butI am having the same problem. I used photo bucket to add an image, my first attempt worked, but the orientation was wrong. I changed it in photo bucket but that didn't fix the avatar. I recopied the direct link and edited my profile, didn't work. I tried to re-crop and start over with the same image as well as a different image and use that direct link, it didn't work. All of the links are jpg, but nothing seems to be working. Any advice would be great.

Ok, well I tried adding an avatar again this morning using the same image. Everything worked fine on the first try. Not too sure what was happening last night.

It could have been your browser cache, and it cleared itself out when you shutdown and restarted, but glad it is working now.
