So late last year I specifically requested and got two female gliders from a local breeder. At the time she seemed great but later I learned she had too many things going on and didn't have time for everything. As it turned out the gliders I got were not socialized with people pretty much at all and were a bit older than I was told (I was told 8-9 weeks and it turned out the were about 12 weeks).
According to what I was told they should be about 7 months oop so I figure they're closer to 8. It's not something I was really concerned with at the time.
This week I was spending some time with my girls in the bathroom (I regularly call them sisters, although they're not related I think of them as adoptive siblings) I noticed that Sparkles has a bit of a bald spot forming on her forehead. I'm trying to get a picture but she's not really hand tame and she doesn't like the camera. I'm trying to get a visit into the vet booked but other than emergencies the best/only exotic vet in the area is booked almost 4 weeks in advance.
I'm wondering if females can form these bald spots that occur predominately on males and, if my baby is a boy, how soon would I need to be worried about pregnancy? I'm still new to gliders and don't think I'm ready for joeys.
Thanks,

Is the bald spot in the middle of the head, like in the photo?

Yes, it's small and sort of a skinny straight line. But as far as I can tell there's no boy parts or ball in the stomach area.

Yeah, I'd get that vet appointment if you haven't already and hope for the best I guess. Maybe if you explain you need to determine the sex and how old they are, they can take a quick peek at her/him.

Also wouldn't hurt even after setting appointment, to call periodically to see if there has been a cancellation and get them in sooner.

Yes, if you're referring to the photos linked above, that is what the bald spot looks like. When they are neutered, the fur will grow back eventually.
