Another newb question...last night, after our first tent experience, the 2 boys slept apart today...one in the little pouch and the other in their normal pouch. Is this normal?

Background for those not seeing our posts this week:

Brought home a pair of 1+ year old neutered males a week ago Sunday and let them acclimate to our house in their own cage. Took them out last night for our first tent time with them (but not their first time.) This morning we noticed that when didn't seem to want to go back in the pouch they had slept in the couple nights prior and the one we used to transport to and from the tent.

We put in the spare pouch but the slightly older one went in the small (1 suggie size) pouch instead and let the younger one sleep in the replacement larger pouch by himself.

Why would they reject a pouch they were both in before and then sleep apart in two different pouches? Nothing to be concerned with? TY

Yes it is normal. Mine used to do it a lot when they were younger.

Thanks for the quick reply. My son was concerned and I am leaving town for a few days this week...he just wanted a little reassurance. Also, we love the castle house on your FB page...did you make that?

I would just watch them for a few days. Make sure they are both eating and active and getting along.

Well, today we had two normal sized pouches available and they both went inside just one of them...so nothing to fear. We just read so many things about being social and group creatures that it seemed weird that they slept apart and just after we did a tent bonding. But we did the tent thing again last night and they went to bed together today. So, yeah, things are good. Appreciate the advice...this is just like having our first child and trying to learn the ropes but not bother the Dr. for every little thing. LOL

Don't stress it too much. Like us, sometimes they just want a little alone time. At some point or another, I've found each of my four sleeping alone; some more than others.
