Hello parents,
The pouch the gliders was getting pretty stinky stanky, so I washed the pouch and took a whiff of it and I still smelled faint traces of pee pee smells.

What's your method of cleaning your pouches? I heard some people wash with a little vinegar, but not sure if they hand wash or just put vinegar in the washer. Do you use certain products to clean your pouches or do you just use water and a bar of soap with vinegar?

Thanks for any feedback

I just put mine in the washer with the detergent I use and a bath towel to give extra volume in the load. Wash on regular cycle so it runs a bit longer than small load. Some people give them an extra rinse cycle.

If you still feel they are not fresh enough, you can run them through one more complete cycle.

Some people air dry if you have which is good if you have extra clean pouches on standby while the dirty ones are being washed. I always put mine through the dryer in the winter and sun dried in the summer even though I always had extra clean pouches.

Hope this helps.

I do the same, wash with detergent, no softener. I do put through a second cycle without detergent. I also usually dry in dryer, though I have air dried sometimes when I lived in AZ (fast). I also have extra pouches and accessories, but I don't have much space to air dry. Plus, I do their laundry about every 4-5 weeks, so their fleece adds up and I throw in fleece from out of cage play as well (2 throws and a fleece sweater).

You can also add vinegar to the wash if you really want to neutralize odor, but I like the detergent/double cycle rinse, I feel it's clean and if it still holds some odor, they won't mark as much.
