I have always had a wheel in my cage with my gliders and never had a problem (I use the stealth wheel but this could happen with any wheel). My gliders have always moved around the wheel when playing but it was never much of a problem. Last night I happened to wake up at 1 a.m. and felt the need to check on them. I found they had moved the wheel so much that it was right up against the side of the cage so they were not able to get out of the wheel. I moved the wheel back to where it normally sits and they jumped on my arm as if to say thanks then jumped to their food bowl. The lesson learned here is to make sure you secure your wheels and other toys that may be moved and trap them in. I am just glad I woke up and felt the need to check on them! To stop this from happening again I am using zip ties now. They are very cheap and can be cut off when I clean the wheel. Just thought I would pass this info on just so no one else has this happen to them.

I'm so glad you posted that. My stealth isn't tied down and for some reason I never thought to. So got to go got some work to do. Thanks.

ZIP TIES!!!!! Use them for everything that isn't nailed down. LOL

I'm sure glad your babies are okay.
Great intuition!!!

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming
WOOOO HOOOO, WHAT A RIDE!!!

Jeff, that is amazing that you woke to check on them I'm glad they are fine. Thank you for the warning and reminder.

lol yea i think i go a bit overboard with zip-ties as well. everything pretty much gets bolted down and i use them to secure cages as well. (didnt have a wire shelf zip-tied down and the bouncy gliders bounced the hooks right off the side of the cage) they have those bags of multicolored ones too!

heh- if you have a stealth extreme.. we use small nylong cable clamps- the opening for the cable fits perfectly around the stand and I can put the geolinks or oval links I use for glider toys through the tightening hole to hold them in place and be re-usable.
