I let Pochie []http://www.sugarglider.net/ubb/images/icons/blush.gif[/] and her family run loose in my sons room and never noticed before the gap under the door,needless to say she got out and before I could get her my dog did.I got ahold of my vet but it was to late there was to much damage done so due to the fact that I didnt notice the gap I have now lost her []http://www.sugarglider.net/ubb/images/icons/frown.gif[/].She had a husband and one joey who are now without her and their is nothing to explain how bad and guilty I feel about this. But I just wanted to post so that everyone knows that you should allways look for even the smallest gap's anywhere and that even the most trusted dog when seeing something little like that scurying across the floor they will chase it.My dog did not bight her she was chasing her and put her big paw on her(100lb dog)and that was all it took.Poochie was one of my first gliders and a very loved baby in my house we all miss her.
------------------
No one can prevent everything all the time.
It is not with smiles that show your love,
nor laufter, gifts, or words.
In tears and pain is true love shown
and regret and loss a friend is proved.
Happy Gliding;
Ushuaia
------------------
In life they teach us happiness. In death the give us loss. Though all the world hears our pain, none can cure the loss. A gliders life once taken can never be reclaimed not by words of consolation nor joeys of the same. One can only grasp at memories and shattered dreams of life. Go on with life in solitude or give up the fear of loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I also have quite a large space under my door that leads to the attic. I have had it covered with a rolled up bath towel, because a year ago(before the gliders) a grey squirrel got into my house through that crack. If it wasn't for that squirrel, I would've never have thought to block it up. Please let us know how the male and joey are doing. My thoughts are with you.
Josephine, Bubba []http://www.sugarglider.net/ubb/images/icons/blush.gif[/], Runner []http://www.sugarglider.net/ubb/images/icons/blush.gif[/] []http://www.sugarglider.net/ubb/sad.gif[/]
I am deeply saddened by your loss. I also have a large dog and have been terrified of the night-mare you just described.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Just a percaution, I went to the home improvement center and bought door sweeps,(I think that's what they are called) they are plastic with a sticky back and they just stick right on to your doors, (like a postit note, no drilling) that way there is no gap. they are very inexpensive and well worth the effort. I've had my girls loose in their room for over 4 years, and they have never gotten out because of the door sweep. please check them out.
