One of the most confusing statements in
diets is the amount of protein. Some
diet buffs call for a percent of protein while others refer to percent of protein source. There can be a vast difference depending on how you interpret this. And as Randy stated it depends a lot on whether the
diet is based on dry weight or volume. Most of the
diets listed for gliders are by volume. The people who designed these
diets do not leave it up to the novice to do a nutritional break down by percentages based on dry weight. Where most run into trouble with
diets is when they take an approved
diet and start trying to alter it by substituting some of the ingredients. As a result they usually end up with an altered
diet that is not acceptable because the ratios have been changed.
