My son had two sugar gliders and one of them was very daring and liked to hang on a seed bell that was suspended from the top of the cage. It is a high cage, but we never thought of the possibility that the seed bell could begin to crumble and the little guy would fall. He had a grave spinal injury and had to be put down. The veterinarian was so kind and respectful. My son and his fiance are so sad. They do not have a computer so I said I would send out this warning: Please don't hang seed bells or logs up high, a fall of two feet or so, because he was upside down and it happened so fast, took away our sweet little friend. If any one of his feet would have been on the cage, he would have been okay. You have to make sure these things are attached low, on the side of the cage.
