I'm considering building a large cage and thought about an acrylic panel for the back, so that they can't pee against the wall by the rear of the cage.

I'd still have wire on the other sides and vines and branches for climbing.

Any thoughts?

Thats exactly what we are doing with our big cage for our study. Except that the majority of the back wall will be covered in vines, moss and branches.

The only issue with putting the panel behind the cage is twice the effort when cleaning

[:"magenta"]some people cover the cage with an old bedsheet, then throw it in the washer. i am thinking about taking a plastic tablecloth, and using thumbtax to attach it to the wall behind the cage. wipes clean, and no wee wee walls! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif" alt="" /> [/]

You can buy sheets of plastic (the type they use for tablecloths) in the walmart fabric department. We cut these sheets to the size of the cage, punch holes in the top, clip lanyard hooks in the holes and then clip them to the cage. These work great. No one can really see them and they clip right off to be wiped down and then clip right back on. We haven't had anything on our walls since we started doing this.

Great idea! I might just have to try it.
