I've read ways to introduce gliders and all that good stuff, but I was wondering what if I tried intros during the day when they are both kinda out of it?....I'm needing to start intro between SweetPea and Whisper. SweetPea is 3 months older than Whisper.....Help me decide quick guys, while it's still kinda early....Thanks!!!!!!!!! dunno

If I trusted they were both without health issues I'd do it. They will either get along within a few minutes or they won't. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. wave

I introduced my two during the day... they curled right up together. Keep a CLOSE eye out though as this MAY not be the case for your two. But I agree during the day is a good time to do intros!

I'm with the others, during the day is a great time to do intro's. They have much less energy...which means too tired to fight as much wink lol...not always the case, but it's a heck of a thought! Good luck!!! Let us know how it goes. smile

John I didn't do pouch swapping but I did carry them around in the same bonding pouch, just not together. Also her lil cage was next to his big cage (the one they will be sharing now!) I just peeked at them and he was rubbing her special spot right under her neck, I got a lil jealous! I was the only one who knew about that spot! She goes into la la land when you rub that special spot. I'm so HAPPY YALL! jump jump

I think he said not recommended because you usually want to swap pouches and stuff for a while longer first. Keep an eye on them in the bonding pouch to make sure they are getting along. I certainly wouldn't leave them unattended for quite a while.

I've got them around my neck right now, no movement or sounds what so ever. They are justa chillin!!!!.When I put them back in the cage I will continue to watch them. I may put her back in her cage before I go to sleep. What do yall think?..Their cages are right next to each other, so they could still chat tonight.

Unless you plan to stay up and monitor their whole night together, you may want to seperate them again. Just because they're ok now doesn't mean they will be once they wake up

Becki he's neutered, I had him neutered when I decide to get him, Whisper. He's been neutered for about 2 months. You think I should put her back in her cage before I go to bed?

How much bigger than her is he? If they're close to the same size, you could try it, but I'd still say stay up a little once they're up and awake to supervise and be there just in case wink

I think that if you are watching them for a while after they wake up and all is fine..They will be just fine! Ususally fighting starts right away or not at all.

He's a big boy. When he was a baby I used to laugh at how big his head was....the body caught up! She's sorta little. Matter of fact she came home on March the 3rd. She's been eating on her for about 3 weeks. Yeah, I'm gonna put her back in her cage before I go to bed. How did you do your intros Becki?

My 1st 2 came to me as adults and already paired. Then I got Wiggles in December. He was alone until mid-Feb when I brought home Willow and Simon. Both Wiggles breeder and Willows breeder were here and they paired them up right away, but, they're also the same size wink

In March I got Stella, and I started intros with the cage in cage method, which, I found out that same night is not a good idea for a reptarium shock One (or both) chewed a hole in the smaller rept so they could be together. No problems there either, but Stella is bigger than Simon... So, my intros went well, but they don't always go that way. I know PeeperKeeper had a rough time with intros with her 2 girls, and I believe Gossamer is having a hard time with planned intros currently too..

I got Whisper in here with me now. They didn't fight and the intro went well but I can surely tell she's happy to be with her momma again! SweetPea is running in his wheel. He wakes up a lot earlier than Whisper and the twins. I'll do a lil tent time with both tomorrow night.I'll keep ya posted.

Hard is an understatement. My male is 8 months old, the female is 3 1/2 months. They have been side by side for nearly 2 months now. The male is neutered, but I guess extremely territorial. I've swapped pouches, kitchens and whole cages. kept them around my neck in seperate pouches. All of this goes fine - they go in each others pouches no problem. I've tried introducing them 3 times now - all during the day and he attacks her and they ball up. Its sad, because she really likes him. She will call to him and run up to him and he proceeds to crab and swat at her through the cage. I'm hoping with time it gets better. Meanwhile, my husband is eyeing the two huge cages with disdain.

I have 4 pairs that intros went really smooth with no problems at all.... Now pair #5, thats a different question all together. I am having to do the pouch swapping and all that with them. It all depends on the gliders. The age difference with the most recent pair is about 7 weeks, so that makes a difference too

off_topic GOSSAMER:

I understand completely, however, mine is mostly because I have 3 intact males. (I am not trying to put them into a cage together) I used to swap pouches out, and my boy Booger is extremely territorial, and would attack the pouch. Any toys come from the other cage without a good cleaning, and he will attack them. I put the cages somewhat close to each other and it was very obvious Booger was not a happy boy! He is by himself, and always had been so I thought he might like to be near other gliders...nope.
The other boys (Cosmo and Gizmo) could care a less, they really don't care about anything. I can pick up Booger play with him and then go pet and play with the other two. If it is switched..pet one of the others, then go put my hand in Boogers cage, he will attack me. He is not impressed with the other boys at all. I know it has a lot to do with him not being neutered, but I think he might just be one of those gliders that like being on there own.

Are you gonna try and put Gizmo and Cosmo together? I tell ya this intro thingy is scarey! I'm gonna continue the day time intro. But I'm not gonna leave her in the cage over night until she's lil older.
