I am considering changing to the HPW diet, and have a few questions for those who are familiar with it. Any input would be appreciated.

-What fruits or veggie do you use. The webpage doesn't specify, so I didn't know if there were any restrictions.

-Where do you get your HPW from?

-How many batches can be made with 1 package of the HPW? (just a guesstimate is fine, I am just wondering how long it will last)

-How long does one batch last for? (Obviously this depends on how many suggies your are feeding, but a rough estimate would be helpful)

-I know that the gliderade is offered twice a week. How much should be put out per glider?

-Are there any other suppliments needed, or do the ingredients listed take care of everything?

-Any specific restrictions on snacks?

-If you are using this diet, can you tell me if you've been happy with it, how your gliders have done, and how long have they been on it?

Yikes that got long! Sorry... blush

Thanks in advance! thanks

Hi, Katie!

I'm sorry that I can't answer most of your questions, but I wanted to just note in response to one of them that you can buy HPW from TMarie at Gliders Anonymous. I wish I could help you with other information...I'll be following along and I'm very interested in learning the answers to the questions you asked, too! So I'm glad you asked. smile

Thanks, I appreciate your response.

I did see it on their (GA) site, but there may be another source out there. Seems like someone always manages to find a quicker/cheaper/better source for things than I can... LOL

-Where do you get your HPW from? I buy from To and Fro, Sweetgliders, and Dancing

-How many batches can be made with 1 package of the HPW? (just a guesstimate is fine, I am just wondering how long it will last) It has 250 g...per box? cups? I dunnooooo if you breed you use 1/2 c and if not 1/4 cup

-How long does one batch last for? (Obviously this depends on how many suggies your are feeding, but a rough estimate would be helpful) I feed 15 gliders and 1 batch last me about 10 days

-I know that the gliderade is offered twice a week. How much should be put out per glider? I just fill a small glass tube feeder for 2 gliders

-Are there any other suppliments needed, or do the ingredients listed take care of everything? NO other supplements are needed

-Any specific restrictions on snacks? Moderation for everyting still applies, I give about 2 large mealies per glider a day

-If you are using this diet, can you tell me if you've been happy with it, how your gliders have done, and how long have they been on it? I LOVE IT...I love that it comes from Australia and was made for Marsuipals, my gliders look and feel terrific. I have seen proof of how it changes them both in appearnce and energy. I have been on it since October 06

Yikes that got long! Sorry... blush

Thanks in advance! thanks

I don't have much to add to Kris's post, but I use HPW as well, and my girls LOVE it. They were very healthy before I switched, so no change there, but they do seem to be eating better than they were on P's diet. Also, one box of HPW for two gliders lasts forever. I split the recipe in half, which gives me just about enough to feed 1 1/2 tsp per glider for a month. I freeze it in ice cube trays along with their fruits and veggies (1 1/2 tsp HPL, 1 tbs veggies, 1 tbs fruit per cube; two cubes per night).

You and I are in the same boat...considering a switch to HPW. I have found the Gliderade and the High Protein Wombaroo at Exotic Nutrition and also at ToandFro. The bee pollen is available at www.stakich.com. It's the Australian pollen you want to get. You can also email Peggy at srlb@gtek.biz. She is very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions regarding the HPW feeding plan.

HTH! wave

Kris, who loves ya Babe!!

Kris did a WONDERFUL job answering all your questions and if I were to respond to them, I would just basically be repeating what she said.

I do make a triple batch whenever I make mine and I feed 18 gliders and it usually lasts me about a month and a half.

I also have HPW here, however it would probably cost you more as I have it in my store for the glider owners here and after shipping and tax and all it would be cheaper to go with someone else. I would have to suggest Sheila for this as she is super fast in shipping.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks for the before and after Kris. She looks so much better!

Anyone else have any thoughts on the HPW diet?

Is there anyone who has tried it and not liked it?
