Yesterday, Kiora was playing in my glider-proofed room until about 1:30 in the afternoon. After a while I noticed she was not running around anymore. So, I started to look for her and could not find her. Anyways, after looking all day, I realized I was going to have to wait until she woke up that morning. So at 4:00 AM she decides to wake up and she plays around my room until about 6:00 AM. Then I go work out, come back at 8:00 and get her out of her cage to play again. Well, I have to work at 10:00 and I could not get her in her cage (I've only had her for one month. So, when I got off work she was ofcourse asleep somewhere in my room and I could not find her again. So, about 10 min. ago, I was leaving to go to class and I decided to take out my trash. I was walking out the door and I started thinking that she sometimes plays in my trash (ofcourse when she does I get her out, but its only papers and stuff...nothing toxic) and so I started to move the bag a little and gently squeeze it...I probably did this for about a minute and then finally I heard her crabbing. She was at the bottom of my garbage bag! To think that I was actually about to throw her in my garbage outside just kills me!!!! I don't know what to say, but just beware of all the places they can hide. I am new to this glider world, and I know she can hide in some outrageous places but I am just so thankful (God must have been looking out for me) that I thought to look in the bag. Well, I am late for class but I just had to post this.

Yeah, that's definitely something to be very cautious about. Pebbles and Bam-Bam's 6-foot fake tree is by the computer and the trash can is underneath it and sometimes I catch Pebbles playing in it (also nothing toxic). I'm glad you thought to check the trash before you threw it out!! []images/icons/smile.gif" border="0[/]

Whew. Glad you found her! I have a rule that if I don't know where my gliders are, I don't sit on anything, step where I haven't looked, or make any moves that aren't extremely calculated. Glad you did that, too.
I'm going to move this to Real Stories. It could have been a tragic outcome, and I'm sure it will be helpful to others there.
[ 02-18-2002: Message edited by: Lucy ]

Oh wow! Thank goodness for your cautious mindset! I suppose that is a very good lesson to us all!!! Thanks so much for sharing this, I don't think that's a place that many people would think of looking.
