If you have a Twin Spin wheel by Super Pet please read this. I found one of our gliders caught in the wheel this morning. The wheel has a front place with entry holes, and it attatches to the back of the wheel that is the running area. The wheel had come loose leaving a gap. When I went to check the gliders and take out the food dishes I thought my baby was dead! When I picked up the wheel, crying hysterically, he started moving. His neck was caught very tightly. My hubby came to help me and we took the wheel apart and removed him. His nose pinked up and he is looking good. He will be making a trip to the vet just to be on the cautious side. I shudder to think what may have happened if I hadn't found him, and I am not sure how long he had been this way. If you own one of these wheels, please make sure it fits tight or throw them out. I am getting rid of them and getting different wheels now. I don't think I could stand the worry of this happening again. I haven't been this frightened in a long time. Angie

My gliders and I both love our QUIET Stealth wheels. Neither my husband or I can think of a way they could get injured. I can't imagine going through something as that. I am so happy you got to him in time.

I agree, Stealth wheels are very safe and quiet, the gliders have a ball on them

Well we have some gliders that are not going to be too happy soon. They will soon wake up to no wheel. We currently have 130 gliders between Mel and I, most being rescues. Although we love the stealth wheels we can't afford to replace them all at this time. We do have some wodent wheels, and comfort wheels. The gliders will be safe at least. My little man is doing well, he had no permanet damage. I am still a little on the shakey side and very nervous. He is eating and drinking fine and has been with us all day getting babies and pampered. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Angie

Angie, Look up the link to make your own Stealth wheels. I believe it is by Randy. I probably would of made ours if I had seen that post first. Mine would certainly miss their wheels if they didn't have them. My one 260 gallon reptarium has 3 wheels in it. And just like there 4 pouches they all get used even though I only have 2 gliders in there.

Thank goodness you found your little one in time! My greatest fear is that of the "unknown". We think things are safe and then something bad happens. Thanks for sharing this information with us all; I will definitely never buy one of those wheels. Hope your little one continues to improve.

Oh Angie!
I know EXACTLY how frightened you must have been to find him that way, the same thing happened to me about a year ago, I posted it here on the board.
I woke up and found Chip stuck between the 2 pieces of his twin spin, he would run his little heart out on that thing and it cracked on him and get got stuck. He wasn't hurt either but I bet he wouldn't have made it if he would have struggled or would have been stuck there for awhile!
I'm so glad that your little one is okay!
Linda

Angie, Glad to hear you and your little one had a happy ending to this horrible accident. I tried to find the stealth wheel on the internet, and my search engine doesn't turn it up. Could you please tell me who carries them? Thanks, Tina

Angie, never mind about who sells the wheels. Do you have a PayPal link on your website for donations? I'd like to send you whatever I have in my PayPal account... it's not much, but it might help buy a wheel for your fuzzbutts. Blessings, Tina

Quote:
Angie, Look up the link to make your own Stealth wheels. It's easy, requires only a few basic tools and can save a bunch of money.....especially if you are making several. However, it was actually our ingenious GC owner, TomH, who posted the very nice thread with detailed instructions and pictures of his method for building a glider wheel. I'll post the link to the thread in a few minutes for those who are interested in reviewing it. TOM'S WHEEL BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS [/]
