I always try to keep things looking new, whether its new toys or just moving the toys they have aroung to new places. The stimulation they get from new toys and their old toys being in new places is good for them, keeps them active and interested in whats going on in their cage.

For sure. The idea is to keep things fresh! They have active memory functions and can get bored easily if they wake up to the same cage that looked exactly the same for years.

I switch toys around each week when I clean their cages. I am on a tight budget too and have found many of their favorite toys at thrift stores back where they keep the baby toys. Just wash them in a 10% bleach solution and rinse them extremely well and air dry. I bought a grocery bag full of toys for $2. Just make sure they are safe for little toes and nothing they can bite off and swollow.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.
