I got my new baby today, Zayne, and hes currently sleeping (its 3pm). When he wakes up tonight, I dont know what Im going to do! LOL
I researched and researched and when he finally got home, my mind went blank! Should I try to playw ith him tonight? Should I leave him alone until tomarrow night? If I do attempt to take him out tonight, what should I do? Just offer licky treats? I dont know...Im clueless...any advice will be appreciated!

Just go at his pace, whatever you do! Make sure when he wakes up, he's either in his cage, or in his pouch in a glider safe room (in case he gets away from you). I wouldn't try to handle him too much, probably just staring in on him in his pouch will be scary enough. You can offer licky treats, but not too much - he will already be stressed a bit (naturally) and you don't want to upset his tummy. I wouldn't attempt anything like tent time tonight. Try talking to him a bit and rubbing him through the pouch. You can also try handing him pieces of his dinner (like peas & apple chunks), just remember to do everything slowly until he gets used to you! If he's frightened, don't push. Just put him back in his cage (where he'll probably feel safest) and try again later. Good Luck, let us know how it goes!

I would give him a day or so to get adjusted to his new surrounding. Sit by his cage and talk to him and offer lickey treats while he is in the cage. Another thing you might want to do is if you have a dirty shirt put on top of his cage to get to know your scent. That work well for my three. And just remember to go at his own pace and not rush him. I sure some others will come along and gives some advice what I might have forgotten. Please udate us on how everything is going. Jaden

Well, I keep peeking in on him while hes sleeping. Not looking in the pouch, just making sure hes still asleepa nd not bouncing around the cage! I just walked in his room when i heard that 'sneezing' sound Ive heard people reffer to. Do you think hes talking? Or grooming himself? I dont know if hed be talking to me already, considering he hasnt been home fro longer than 6 hours! Hehe

He's probably grooming himself. Wait to you hear him bark. I love all glider's sounds. Congrats on your new baby!

Aww thanks!! Heres a little update for anyone who cares:
Hes been in his bonding pouch around my neck for an hour or so today, the first time I got him, he crabbed because i switched him from his cage pouch to his bonding pouch. I put him back so i could go shopping (i know hes not ready to go with me yet ) When I got home, he was asleep, i got him out of his cage and he didnt crab once! I talked to him softly and he was fine, he was shaking a bit, so i gentley stroked him outside his pouch, and he calmed down. Now, hes in his pouch sitting on my lap right now and hes letting me rub him from the outside of the pouch and he isnt shanking! I love him so so much!!! I think this bonding thing will progress rather quickly, he seems like he could be a little lover if he wanted to be!!

Shaking isn't always a sign of fear or being upset in gliders. Most of them do that when they are waking up. The theory is that they are speeding up their metabolism. I'm glad bonding is going well!
